EU Shipping

We are currently unable to ship orders to the EU, under the value of 150 Euros ex vat, ex shipping. For enquiries please email mailorder@whitechapelgallery.org. 

BOOKS, MERCHANDISE & RARE POSTERS 
We aim to dispatch books, merchandise and rare posters within 1 week. You will receive an email notification when your order is on its way. Shipping times are as follows:
UK – 1–2 weeks
Rest of world – 2–4 weeks (subject to customs clearance)

ARTISTS’ EDITIONS
We aim to dispatch artists’ editions within 2 weeks. You will receive an email notification when your order is on its way. Shipping times are as follows:
UK – 1–2 weeks
Europe – 2–4 weeks
Rest of world – 2–4 weeks (subject to customs clearance)

MEMBERSHIPS
Members packs are fulfilled externally and aimed to dispatch within 2–3 weeks from purchase. Your membership pack will include a welcome letter, current Season Guide and Membership card. You can use the following membership benefits without your physical card:

- Free entry to all current exhibitions for you and a guest
- 50% discount on ticketed events for you and a friend
- 10% discount on limited edition artworks
- 10% discount in the bookshop
- 10% discount in the café

ARTISTS’ EDITIONS
Due to the nature of our artists’ editions, Whitechapel Gallery offers shipping rates including packaging materials to sufficiently protect the works on a door-to-door tracked courier service, for both UK and international shipping.

Standard shipping rates for unframed printed editions:
Collection from Whitechapel Gallery – FREE
UK – £35
Europe – £55
Rest of world (inc. Switzerland, Norway, Iceland) – £75
Large editions and framed editions may incur higher shipping rates. Fragile or 3D artworks may require custom crating and bespoke shipping quotes.

COLLECTION

If you have chosen to pick up your order from the Gallery, you will receive an email notification when the order is ready for collection. We aim to have books and merchandise orders ready for collection within 1 week and artists’ editions within 2 weeks.

Opening hours are Tuesday–Sunday, 11am–6pm, with late closing at 9pm on Thursdays. When you come, please bring your email confirmation (either printed or on a smartphone) with you and show it to a member of Visitor Services staff at the Information Desk. They will be able to assist you with the collection.


DUTIES, TAX AND SERVICE CHARGES

If your delivery address is not within the United Kingdom, you may be subject to import duties, taxes and delivery service charges, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country. You will need to pay any additional charges for customs clearance. Please note that customs policies vary widely from country to country and we advise you to contact your local customs office for further information. Please be aware that cross-border shipments are subject to opening and inspection by customs authorities.

Artists’ editions with a value over $2500 may require the US customs service to request ID from the recipient (examples include EIN, SSN, VAT, GST, RFC). Our courier may try to contact you for additional information to clear the parcel through customs. This is just a formality as there is no import tax or duties on artworks. If you encounter any problems, please contact us and the team will be happy to assist.


RESTRICTIONS

We deliver anywhere in the world but unfortunately we can’t deliver to PO box addresses using our courier service.
