The limited edition work Square Root of 2 (2013) was created exclusively for the Whitechapel Gallery to accompany Sarcevic's work in the programme of shows from the Collection Sandretto Re Rebaudengo at the Gallery (2012-2013). The Sandretto Collection is one of the most important collections in Europe and is featured in the Whitechapel Gallery's current programme of shows, making visible rarely-seen public and private collections.Square Root of 2 (2013) is available to buy in a special frame, designed by Bojan Sarcevic.
Bojan Sarcevic's work quietly reforms space, addressing the social and physical structures which inform existence. The poetry of everyday experience and existence is often recorded and affirmed by Sarcevic, through the exploration of traces and gestures. His geometric collages create a sense of lost times and spaces, forming a fixed memorial of human transience, whilst his three-dimensional work plays similarly with subtle notions of intervention. Sarcevic was born in Belgrade, Serbia in 1974.
