About the work

David Rayson’s edition for the Whitechapel Gallery accompanied his work in the 2004 exhibition Edge of the Real – A Painting Show

About the artist

London-based artist David Rayson is fascinated with the day-to-day existence of urban and suburban living.  His work frequently combines elements of the everyday with the fantastic, all rendered in psychedelic colours, giving his images a disorienting and surreal feel.

Rayson is currently Head of Painting at the Royal College of Art, London.  His work is included in numerous public and private collections, including the British Council, The Contemporary Art Society and Tate.

Selected Exhibitions

Rayson has held major solo exhibitions at Marlborough Fine Art, (The Everyday Fantastic 2009) London, Kettles Yard, Cambridge (Somewhere else is here 2003) and Maureen Paley/Interim Art (David Rayson 1998, 2000 and 2002). His work has been exhibited at Tate Britain, Tate Modern, Whitechapel Gallery, The ICA, The Lowry Gallery, Manchester, and Turner Contemporary, Margate. He was co-selector and curator of the 2007 Jerwood Contemporary Painters, and the 2010 Threadneedle Art Prize. Rayson’s work is included in many public and private collections both in the UK and internationally.

Whitechapel Gallery editions are generously donated by the artists. All proceeds from the sale of these works directly support our exhibition and education programmes. As is traditional in editions publishing, prices will rise as an edition starts to sell out.

The price shown includes VAT, taxes will be calculated at checkout.
