With Archaeology of Memory, Gabriel Chaile expands his sculptural practice, creating a terrain sown with different histories reflecting the many ways of living across diverse geographies. While his work appears rooted in materiality, beneath the surface lies a rich conceptual framework that offers audiences the means to approach complex issues as he does – in the manner of an archaeologist. 

This publication documents Chaile’s commission for Whitechapel Gallery, grounded by intimate installation photography, with an original text by Manuela Moscoso and an interview between the artist and the curator.
