About the work
This edition was featured in Raymond Pettibon's debut London exhibition at the Whitechapel Gallery in 2001 and exemplifies his comic book expressionism, which combines literary and pop culture and wry observations on art and masculinity.
About the artist
Born in Tuscon, Raymond Pettibon is one of the most influential artists to emerge from the LA punk scene in the 1990's where he started off designing album covers and flyers for his artist friends and musicians. He has become internationally recognised for his prolific output of drawings, characterised by a comic book aesthetic of figurative images combined with short, enigmatic texts.
Raymond Pettibon lives and works in Los Angele. He is represented by Regen Projects Los Angeles and David Zwirner London.
Whitechapel Gallery editions are generously donated by the artists. All proceeds from the sale of these works directly support our exhibition and education programmes. As is traditional in editions publishing, prices will rise as an edition starts to sell out.
