This fully-illustrated catalogue, produced to accompany Ugo Rondinone's 2006 exhibition at the Whitechapel, zero built a nest in my navel, was developed in close collaboration with the artist. This is the most comprehensive monograph of the artist's work to date, with contributions by Alison Gringeras, David Thorpe and Gilda Williams.
Rondinone's work addresses the nature of subjectivity and the elusive search for connection, identification and signification. His practice spans painting, drawing, photography, video, sculpture, neon and sound and he often combines different mediums to produce disorienting installations, which offer readings of transitory experiences.
